The River Houses

The River Houses are superbly located in the beautiful Tuki Tuki River Valley. They are nestled into farmland above the river with wide sweeping views downstream towards Te Mata Peak. While totally secluded, they are just 15 minutes drive from Havelock North, situated 5 kms upstream (south) of Red Bridge which crosses the river to take you to Waimarama.

Two separate dwellings in one magic location, The River Houses are designed to be rented together or separately with a shared pool and courtyard. Perfect for a group of friends or two families with room for peace and quiet as well as communal gathering spaces and relaxing areas both indoors and out. Superbly designed and furnished, these properties are generously appointed with the finest of fabrics, textures and finishes.

• Each house has its own fully equipped kitchen, generous pantry
• Fully Equiped Laundry
• BBQ and open wood fireplaces with numerous indoor and outdoor living, sitting and dining areas. 
• Each has two kingsized bedrooms with a day/reading room that can be made up to a third. This gives a maximum capacity of six bedrooms across the two houses. The beds can be made as Kings or two singles. 
• East House offers three bathrooms, West House offers two bathrooms
• A sheltered cloistered pool is heated in the Summer months and can be shared by both houses. Ideally suited for two to four couples sharing.
• Each house is fully equipped with all modern requirements including television, stereo, Sky TV, phone, Wireless Broadband Internet Connection etc. 

During your stay you can also enjoy a premium selection of Black Barn wines.

Unlike hotel mini bars, these wines are supplied to you at winery prices and significantly less than hospitality rates. If there is a Black Barn wine we don't have in your retreat just let us know and we will have it ready for your arrival.

Cellular Network Coverage Note to Vodafone customers: Unfortunately while Black Barn is minutes from civilisation it is still well outside Vodafone’s coverage area. With the exception of very specific spots, your Vodafone (usually 021) phone will probably not work here. We apologise for the inconvenience however your Telecom (usually 027) phone will work and wireless broadband is available. If you are travelling from overseas we would advise you against purchasing Vodafone SIM cards for calls or internet connections in this area.
